On Sunday, August 13th, GCR was notified in writing by Peter Gray that KLQS-LP in Agua Dulce, California is going silent for an indefinite period of time.
The situation is a rather unusual one. In short, the equipment used to operate KLQS was in fact on loan to them from another low power FM operator, which did not need it until they were ready to start broadcasting. Apparently, the new station is soon to go on the air in Santa Clarita, California.
This does not mena tne end of KLQS, though. They are making an effort to raise money to purchase new equipment specifically for KLQS, and they are also in the process of relocating the transmitter from Agua Dulce to Palmdale, California, a larger community.
We wish KLQS success, and hope they will return to the air very soon!
KFZR, the "sister station" to KLQS, is not affected by these developments.
